Bill Mettinger was born in 1964 and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia although over the years he has strayed to the far off reaches of Olney, Lawncrest and Huntingdon Valley. He currently resides in the Philly suburb of Elkins Park.
Bill loves God, his wife & son, pets, a handful of friends, music and beer (possibly even in that order). He says he could eat pizza just about every night, would rather eat hamburger than steak, refuses to eat salmon “‘cause its pink and smells like a dock,” loves cheesesteaks and hoagies and hates to cook on the grill.
Bill falls asleep at most movies, watches very little TV and has probably read less than five books in the last twenty-five years.
Bill published his first book “Kensington Kid” at the end of 2008 to rave regional reviews that led to several TV appearances, interviews and articles by local press.
Bill loves to write and has worked more off than on “Wildwood Weeks” as well as a couple of other projects for the last bunch of years that he looks forward to completing in the near future as well.
Bill says no matter where he goes he will always consider Kensington home. "You can take the kid outta Kensington but you can never take Kensington outta the kid"
